104.3 the Fan issues a challenge to Dick Monfort: face your fans
Nate Lundy has thrown down the gauntlet.

Dick Monfort is a master of one-way communication with the Rockies faithful. He issues statements and shares his propaganda through the Denver Post and on Root Sports but what he does not do is grant interviews with non-partners or take questions from his constituents, the fans of the Colorado Rockies.
Nate Lundy’s challenge was issued in the form of a blog post at the fans web site. In it Lundy speaks directly to Monfort:
“Today, you had the opportunity to talk to Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post. Your comments, frankly, about the current state of the Colorado Rockies franchise have left even some of the brightest people I know scratching their heads. Confused. A bit annoyed. Insulted. These are just a few of the adjectives I think best describe the emotions being felt by those I’ve talked to.”
“I’ll admit, I’m not sure given FCC rules that I would want to have our listeners with a clear shot to talk to you. We’d have to hit the dump button several times with a few of the more rabid ones”
“I will simply propose that you come on the air with us and answer our questions. They will be fair, but they will be pointed. Answer them, and maybe it will all make sense. However, if you choose to continue to ignore us, we will simply continue to use the 100,000 watts at our disposal on the FM dial to point out the flaws and ask why.”
In other words, keep avoiding your critics and the complaining will only get louder. Lundy’s right. And, if Monfort does not want to face the music then he should command his General Manager, Dan O’Dowd to face it for him. The way the Rockies are handling the media in the midst of this, the worst year the team has had since it’s inception, has been overly gaurded and best and deceptive at worst.
Colorado Rockies fans deserve an hosest explaination from the people at the top. We have had enough of being told to be patient. Monfort has talked down to us long enough.
Nate Lundy has issued a challenge that we would love to see Dick accept. But we know he won’t.
