The Montauk Anti-Pollution Coalition is a Not-For-Profit corporation which represents Montauk residents, local organizations and businesses who have joined forces to protect Montauk's environment from major sources of pollution. The MAP Coalition's most immediate and highest priority is to correct the noise pollution abuses created by the Long Island Rail Road. While past similar attempts have failed, there is reason to believe this effort will succeed. A dedicated core of volunteers, effective campaign strategy and realistic goals are a few of the reasons to believe in its ultimate success.

We urge you to sign the petition and to fill in all informational areas. The data will only be employed by the MAP Coalition in its efforts to confront the LIRR with the scope of the problem. The information is also essential to related governmental bodies in proving there is indeed a very large number of Montauk residents adversely affected by the noise abuses. Additionally, by listing your phone number, Montauk and E-mail address we will be able to keep you informed of our efforts.

Remember, there is strength in numbers.

If you are tired of listening to the LIRR's noise pollution caused by as many as 4 or 5 trains idling all night long at the Montauk train station please sign the petition to force the LIRR to end this unnecessary & environmentally destructive practice.
