Despite the installation of a set of "drip pads" near the passenger platform (to catch dripping oil and fuel, while the train can sit for hours before departing) the LIRR is failing to actually USE the new equipment the reportedly spent $8,000 to install. On repeated occasions there have been reported observations of both DE and DM locomotives parked just to one side or the other of these "drip pads", so the locomotives continue to drip oil, fuel, or perhaps other more hazardous materials DIRECTLY ON THE GROUND... and right into the water table and Suff. Co. Water Well located ACROSS THE STREET.
