The management of the Rough Riders Condominium Owners Association graciously allowed the MAP Coalition to make a presentation as the first order of official business at their annual meeting held on Sunday, October 19th at 10pm at the Montauk Fire House.
Residents of Rough Riders have suffered, perhaps more than any other group in Montauk, as a result of noise pollution from the LIRR Montauk Station, because of their proximity to the station... which also makes them ideal participants in the MAP Coalitions volunteer Task Force to monitor LIRR operations.
The crowd was eager to know how they could help the MAP Coalition, and intensely interested in recently collected photographic exhibits which prove the LIRR does not need to idle trains for extended periods of time.
Our sincere thanks to the management and residents of Rough Riders for letting us speak at their meeting. We look forward to our organizations continuing cooperation in order to bring about the required positive changes in LIRR facilities and operating procedures in Montauk.
